Recitals: |
|
We have an annual spring
recital, with all ages and levels encouraged to perform.
The spring recital is combined with a "fun" event, such
as a dessert contest, or a flower exchange. We put on an
annual "Harps for the Holidays" concert, which includes
a student ensemble of all levels, as well as
performances by teachers and a guest artist. We have had
up to 30 harps in this ensemble! We also provide
additional performance opportunities, such as master
classes, as well as more informal settings, such as
taking turns playing at a summer studio picnic. |

Stephanie Janowski is an experienced professional
harpist who plays and teaches throughout the San
Francisco Bay Area. She performs at a variety of venues,
including weddings, receptions, private parties, and
other special events. She also plays a busy schedule of
concerts, including with local ensembles such as the San
Jose Wind Symphony, where she is resident harpist. She
has played regularly for Sunday brunch at both the
Crowne Plaza Hotel in Milpitas and at the San Jose
Hilton. |

Education: |
|
Stephanie began her harp studies with Renee Quinn and
Phyllis Schlomovitz, formerly principal harpist of the
Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. She is continuing her
musical education with Paul Hurst, who was a guest
artist at the 1999 World Harp Congress in Prague, and at
the International Harp Festival in Soka, Japan. On her
annual visits to England, Stephanie studies with David
Watkins, former principal harpist of the London
Philharmonic. She has also participated in master
classes with leading harpists such as Susann McDonald,
Josef Molnar, Aristid von Wurtzler, and Park Stickney.
Stephanie began her musical education with the piano and
french horn, and has played both instruments for over 30
years. Stephanie's non-musical background includes a
B.A. in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from
the University of California, San Diego, and a M.S. and
PhD in Operations Research from Stanford University. |
